Akitsugu Maebayashi has focused on auditory sense as an interface between the body and the environment, and has created installations as opportunities for personal experience. His work Audible Distance was awarded the runner-up prize in the ICC Biennale '97, and the honorable mention in the Ars Electronica '98 in Linz. He created Sonic Interface in 1999, which examines the influence of changes in the sense of hearing upon perception. This work was exhibited in Akihabara TV2 (Tokyo, 2000), DEAF_00 (Rotterdam, 2000), Villette Numerique (Paris, 2002) and SONAR 06 (Barcelona). The piece, [I/O] distant place was developed with a 3D acoustic technology and was shown in ICC (Tokyo, 2001). 前林明次は身体と環境の接点としての「聴覚」や「音」に焦点をあて、体験の「場」としての作品を提示している。ICCビエンナーレ'97においてAudible Distanceが準グランプリを受賞、1998年にはアルスエレクトロニカ98（リンツ）において入賞する。99年に発表したSonic Interfaceは聴覚の変化が知覚に及ぼす影響を作品化したもので、秋葉原TV2（東京）、DEAF＿00（ロッテルダム）、Villette Numerique（パリ）、Sonar 2006（バルセロナ）等で紹介される。また01年にはICCの無響室で立体音響技術を利用したサウンドインスタレーション、[I/O] distant placeを発表した。 |
